So Lincoln is alive as a flock of presumably clones, and they exhale either helium or hydrogen, and this store has sales on gum for president’s day specifically… Am I overthinking this? Would Heathcliff make this make sense?
As I edited this one I had to keep telling myself to not think about it. Just remove the cat and don’t get creative. Because anything else would be too much layered on top of much.
Bizarre, poorly thought out, and basically shit.
Sums up 90% of the comics pages in newspapers for the last 60 years +.
Doonesbury, Bloom County were both really thought out and amazing. Calvin & Hobbes really captured childhood & imagination. The Far Side was bizarre (I’ll give you that) but also extremely funny (if you got the joke). For better & worse, Andy Capp & the lockhorns were previews into adulthood marriage for young minds (young people now would call it boomer humor and indoctrination).
Basically there were some good old staples (peanuts, etc) And some absolute garbage (Nancy, family circle)), but man, you can’t say there has been nothing but junk since 1963.
I didn’t say it was all junk, but nine out of ten was so banal and crap as to be offensive.
“ Doonesbury, Bloom County were both really thought out and amazing. Calvin & Hobbes really captured childhood & imagination. The Far Side…”
- All utterly amazing.
I have visited parts of the US where none of those were featured in the local rags because they were probably considered too whacky.
I get you…so much fodder to get to the gems!
You know I just couldn’t get my suspension off disbelief where it needed to be. I mean, are we to believe these bearded men are chewing gum and blowing large bubbles? It would get full of beard in one pop. Really the wrong comic for this ketamine trip.
