I am in the market for a new car (currently drive a M3) and am specifically looking to move into the Porsche line and am wanting a slightly bigger vehicle. I originally was thinking going the SUV route which is where the Macan S interest came in and I had one spec’d out which would be new and leased. I then test drove a 2021 Panamera 4S and really enjoyed it and will be test driving a 2021 Taycan 4S tomorrow.

I am interested in people’s input based on choice, ownership experience, and fit for their lifestyle. I’m trying to make the decision soon.

A little about my driving habits: My commute is within 20 miles there and back and then I use my car for driving around the city, going to restaurants, shopping, etc. I will occasionally drive to the neighboring state to visit my family (about 250 miles). This is where the real interest in the Taycan came in as my usual daily driving needs would be very much satisfied. I love the look and feel so far of all 3 cars (Taycan TBD once I get behind the wheel) but they all have very different attributes. Please help with any input!

I was very unimpressed with the Taycan after driving my MIL’s for a while. It’s a fantastic car, but it gets boring quick, and I hate the infotainment system compared to the rest. I’ve driven a panamera around a couple times, I love them, but they’re too long and low for my liking for a daily driver. Also have driven a Macan S a few times and absolutely loved it. Sure parts of the interior feel cheaper compared to the panamera or Taycan, but for a daily driver, it’s so hard to beat. Only thing that could make a Macan better is if it had a small electric motor with 20-40 mile range. For what it’s worth I’m just an idiot with an M2 and too poor to buy a Porsche, so there’s that.
