I think more people prefer a date function. But no date watches offer better dial symmetry and are easier to set if they stop - not having to set the date and the time, just the time.
I like having the date, but I don’t like most date windows. My Oris pointer date and CW Sealander (dial matched date at 6:00) does it better than most.
Yeah I think Christopher Ward does it well, might have to buy one lol. Got my eye on either The Twelve or a Sealander too.
My black sealander is my go-to. 36mm
I’m seeing there’s a GMT option for the sealanders too? Might have to go for that one.
Yeah I like it. If they make it in a 36 I’ll be their first in line.
Cuz they know nothing about watches
Symmetry
for me the problem not in the date but in the font - obviously it’s not the perfect in so many cases, and by the way when I saw how date watches look without the dial I started to dislike it more - so much weight and space
I always like the date cause otherwise a dial can look boring.
Color matching and the fact that perpetual calendars are expensive?
I like having a date that is a feature. I don’t like a date at 4:28 pm.
I just hate setting it when my watch winds down.
Probably if they have a lot of watches when you have to set up the date every time because the watch has stopped while sitting in the box.
