Hacktoberfest is a month long celebration of open source. And this year I participated as a maintainer for freeCodeCamp's Developer Quiz Site [https://github.com/freeCodeCamp/Developer_Quiz_Site].       It’s just gamification to try to get more people contributing. Badges and trinkets. Some companies gave out t-shirts and stickers.
