The way characters have their own subplots that no one really cares about but the writers think having subplots means good character development and there are all kinds of irrelevant things going on that gets sorted out a couple scenes later anyway and there’s just soooo much moral speeches. Omg.

The main storyline is kinda being edged to (probably) build up to the last episode. Which to be fair many shows do. But what made the boys so special is it wasn’t that kind of show. Any episode felt like a roller coaster where anything could happen at any moment

Now it’s just “yea we need to stop this woman from becoming president but let’s talk about our feelings”

Idgaf about hughies subplot. I dont think it really changes anyhting about his character or develops it in any kind of way really. Hughie is just there now. They did our beloved hughie like they did Cisco from the flash

The radical right vs radical left plot could’ve been interesting. But it’s kinda obvious the writers are mocking the right as hard as they can while making the left seem better. I mean, the stereotypical “they are secretly gay” jokes. The conspiracy theory jokes (kinda true tho). The way they virtue signal through sister sage. “I’m a smart black woman and you as a white male are intimated by me” she said that to homelander. And basically all her scenes consist of some racial comment about how she’s black and white men…

Idgaf about starlights and sparklers rivarly. Like the reason behind sparkers motives sounds like it has been written by Disney channel

Kimiko is kinda getting boring. I understand they’re expanding on her backstory but fuck that if I have to be honest.

Frenchie’s moral crisis seem kinda random. Unlike many critics I’ve seen of this show, I dont really care he is attracted to men. I mean he could be just bi and it doesn’t really matter to be honest. What does matter is how they made him have feelings towards that dude without us (the audience) even knowing the dude. Like there has to be a scene in the future where he confesses to him. Why tf would I the viewer care about what colin feels? I don’t know him so I don’t care.

For the rest his moral crisis seems natural. But it’s just so random and forced

Homelanders subplot has been great tho. Atleast they didn’t ruin my boy
