Cason at 10 is looking great right now - with more minutes he could easily move up the ladder. I also don’t genuinely think Wemby is a lock for ROTY if Chet keeps it up.
Chet has a 19.9% usage rate compared to Wembanyama’s 30.5%. If Chet had his own team the way that Wemby does, he’d be the clear favorite. The spurs now live and die by Wemby. He is their team. Chet is a huge part of our team but he’s just one of like 4-5 guys that can go off on any given night. Chet is scoring less, but at a much higher rate. I feel like the narrative of Wemby will be enough to win him the award but it will be painful to see our guys get 2nd place in back to back years. But I guess that just means we draft really well haha
His TS% would be lower as well. Chet should be number one based on that alone at this point + comparable numbers to Wemby… this ladder lacks advanced analytics
I think wemby has it wrapped on hype alone, but he’s also just insane to watch. However, Chet’s real shine will come in the playoffs. He’ll probably be the the only unicorn on the stage.
Wemby hype is so extreme that Chet barely has a chance even though his advanced stats are better. In the long run not winning ROTY will probably just add a chip on his shoulder and be better.
