One of the major problems I have with Civ 5 is that by the time you hit the Industrial Era, it really feels like a sprint to the finish of just mashing “next turn” over and over again. You are either so far ahead that there’s nothing to do but advance time, or so far behind that there’s really no way of catching up. This is also a problem with how Civ 5 in particular handles the culture victory being essentially an “easier” technology victory.
