Hello, I’m in search of some advice from the car wizards. I have a good ol’ 2001 Buick Century 145,000 miles and it has stalled out twice while driving. I lose acceleration, my power steering, lights/radio still work but it doesn’t throw any codes. I didn’t notice if it was sputtering as it died because my heat was full blast and had the radio on. Once I stopped and tried starting back up it fired right up. However, in the past few months, there have been a few times when it has taken slightly longer than normal to start. The alternator is pushing 14 volts to the battery while it’s running and not too sure where to start diagnosing. From reading online it could be, a fueling issue (fuel filter, fuel pressure), electrical (fuel pump relay, ground, alternator), or compression. Let me know what you think, any responses are appreciated!

Extra info: In the past few months, I replaced my power steering pump and lines, changed out my rear speakers, relocated my 12V cigarette lighter, and broke my rear center brake light when changing the speaker. Not sure if any of that is related but I figured I’d share just in case.

Every time I’ve had this problem before it has always been a failing fuel pump. Replace the fuel filter first and see if that helps. If it does, I would start saving money for a new fuel pump.
