Would the Heat trade him for Whitmore or Jock Landale and the Nets pick as well as the Rockets top 4 pick?

The Rockets sent Cam down to the G League today and pretty sure he is NBA ready. What do Heat fans think, the number 20 pick this yr for the 27th pick 2 yrs ago.

As a fan of both players, this would be a bad trade for both teams and players and the reasoning don’t make sense. Cam is clearly not nba ready if he can’t even get spot mins on a team with decent but not top tier depth at the wings. Which means he’s not capable off ball player, playmaker or defender to have an impact. On top of that, Jovic is very similar to Eason skillset wise and the already have Smith at the four as well and his defense isn’t good enough to warrant mins (it’s the reason he doesn’t play now).

For the heat, we already have A LOT of wings on the roster and in the g league. Once Caleb comes back, one of J-Rich and Jaime won’t be playing and you add Swider, Cain who won’t player either. At least Jovic is capable to play the 3 and 4 with some minutes at the 5 (Spo used him matched him Up on centers when he played this season) and the on ball versatility to play the perimeter, be a playmaker and defend at the big position is vital for teams now. The Jovic we see in him won’t happen unless the defense improves, Spo and the organization knows it and if you look at Chet (Jovic won’t be as good as Chet), you can envision a very similar kind of player at the 4.

I think the answer is to send Jovic to the G-league once the roster is healthy, let him get his reps in the system up in Sioux Falls and gain better defensive feel in a low stakes environment. Just like what the Rockets did with Cam, let your young guys develop their weakness at their own pace and give ‘em those reps and attainable goals. Just because Jaime is more NBA ready now doesn’t mean all rookies are, took multiple players 3-5 years to get good. Mike Conley is like in year 30 and it took 3 years for him to truly get playing time and he’s been REALLY GOOD since. Y’all need to relax.
