I have a ethernet cable going from my router to 5 port gb ethernet switch. I then have a super long ethernet from this switch to a out building in my garden. In this building I have that ethernet connected to a 2nd gb ethernet switch.

In the 2nd switch it connects my gaming PC and work Laptop . However the max speed I’m getting is 100mb downland and upload speed. My Internet is 1gb down and upload speed.

My guess is due to having 2 ether switches chained (not sure that’s the right term) is there a way to resolve this?

Hope this makes sense…

Solved!! Just checked the cable from router to the 1st switch. It was a Cat5 cable. Replaced it with a CAT6 and getting full speeds. Unreal.

Thank you both for helping. Can’t believe it was such a simple fix
