When a friend asks about the deck and say the graphics or quality probably isn’t good, what game do you load up to show off to them?

For me, marvel Spiderman is my go-to

God of War. Runs at “original” settings beautifully. It’s crazy to think there is a handheld that can do PS4/Xbox One performance. In the right conditions it can actually be just a little better - I don’t need it to be more. I am not chasing modern AAA game performance on a handheld. The others who try get nuclear hot and have to be wall tethered. There are mechanical limits right now - but it’s an exciting format that I am happy to see growth into. What will the next Steam Deck be capable of, or the next ROG device etc.

most AAA game that I have is probably Apex lmao. It runs at a pretty stable 60 unless you’re up in the ship so that’s pretty good considering only the ps5/series x can do above 30 fps on console for apex.

I also use Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered or Miles Morales to show off. I mainly use them because they look good, but also because I completed them both using the steam deck and have 100% achievements so I can tell them they do play great all the way through.

Cod ww2 (2017) is a great game that can run on pretty decent settings, full res with good looking AA for a very clean presentation, while running at around 80-110 fps. It a COD at just the right time where it still looks good, but the engine isn’t so advanced that you just get bad performance even on low like some modern games. Used to be that low settings were potato, but many games make low settings still decent looking.

But it can and does, on medium settings.

It can hold 40 on low

Devil May Cry 5. Its not the the newest title but it looks damn good and gets stable 60fps at high settings.

I play all my games stream play off my main rig. I explain how I can play some games natively when I travel, but when I’m home I just stream my games too the deck. I don’t need a tv. The machine just idles for me in wait until I need it. You can get so much gaming mileage without being plugged in just streaming to the deck instead of running things natively. The machine IS a beast no doubt, but when you have another machine to do the heavy lifting graphics wise, SD just has to focus on making sure the picture quality is good and you Gucci
