Left: 2009 Faded V in Cherry, my first “proper” guitar, fitted with a pair of Oil City Winterizer mini-hums (Firebird pickups) in a custom black scratchplate. I’ve owned it since I was 15 and it’s one of the only guitars with noticeable patches of wear for which I can claim “I did that”.
Right: 1997 Flying V in Alpine White with an ebony board, and a gold Maestro vibrola fitted by a previous owner. It was in a right old state when I got it (for cheap), but it’s a bit cleaner and nicer now. Has a rather ugly, but stable, headstock repair. Some kind of Seymour Duncan in the neck, and modified wiring (it had an extra volume control artlessly shoved in, and I’ve stripped it right back to a single volume knob). Plays like the wind though.
