very few teams do a complete 180 in one offseason. lively has already proven he makes a huge impact on our team defense but we cant expect him to resolve everything. dallas has a very strong core with luka, irving, grant, and lively. they just need to refine some of the supporting cast.

Green is a really good defender against guards but bigger players he struggles against.

grant is a little too slow and does not have enough length to go up against quicker players. dallas really just needs a solid, big, athletic wing defender (hopefully omax can develop) and a legit bruiser type back up center (someone like biyombo but hopefully younger and taller).

Yup. That’s really it. Hard to find and acquire the right guys but we know what we need. Starting caliber two way long athlete at SF, and backup big body center. Will need to give up assets to fill the SF spot, but might be able to find a cheap backup big. Will see if Nico can get that done by next season. Until then we still have a solid squad that will be fun to watch.

yea everyone starts looking at the next step but it does take time. wing is either going to come from developing omax, trading for a starting caliber wing, or signing one in free agency.

I really feel like OG might be possible in a sign in trade next offseason but you have to be able to convince him to want to be in dallas.

I really like OMax. If he doesn’t earn time on the court this year that will be a real bummer, and there are worrisome trends about rookies who never break the rotation in their first year. Hope to see him soon because you’re right that he fits the exact profile of the type of guy I think we need to add.
