i was new to shoes back then. did not know much about anything at all, not even the most classic AJ1s
i went to a nike employee store and i saw this pair of Ben and Jerry Dunks on the “last size” shelf. i wondered to myself, who on earth would buy these cow shoes and i laughed at them with my friends.
6 months later after i had amassed some sneaker knowledge, i came across a vid showing the exact same pair of shoes that apparently were worth like 4 bands on the resale market. imagine my pain. I COULD HAVE GOTTEN THEM FOR A DISCOUNT.
buying too many J1s, at the end of the day they’re the exact same shitty made shoes with different color combos, will hurt my pinky toes and knees if worn all day, plus prices keep on rising but still same shitty quality
the addiction is very real, gets old pretty quick, and once the post nut clarity hit, you’ll feel empty as shit, worst part is, you won’t get your money back cause the shoes are worn or nobody will want to buy the shit colorways you tryna sell
Skipping on DS bapestas in a colorway I liked for $75 because at the time I didn’t know that difference between A Bathing Ape the clothing company and Bored Apes the annoying NFT. It was around the time Nike started doing NFT stuff with RTKFT
Selling my OW AJ5 in black to get the white ones. I made some money in the process, but yuck. Sold them later, then Virgil died, and prices for the black ones doubled.
I’ll likely never have them again.
I bought the marina blue jordan 1s because I didn’t know when the next royal/blue colorway of the jordan 1 was going to drop. i paid 265$ for em 💀 but because of hype loss for the jordan 1, i should be able to sell them and get the royals without losing too much money.
Sold my DOOMS. At a ridiculous price, too. Far too low. Only a year and a half back. Needed the cash.
Looking for a pair again now. But the price is just bonkers.
Just about any double-up I’ve ever bought. The idea that I’ll wear a pair of sneakers into the ground when I have a house full of them, AND that I’ll actually want another pair of the same old sneaker I’ve been wearing and not something new seems ridiculous to me now.
