JB is the type of player who can’t contribute shit when he doesn’t get going offensively. He can’t dribble, can’t pass and has the most defensive lapses compared to our starters. When he gets fouled it’s a fucking guarantee it’s going to be 1/2 with his poor FT SHOOTING.
If Tatum, White or even Holiday has some shooting slump AT LEAST they can contribute by passing, making plays, grit defense, etc.
JB so far has been the damn weakest link out there IMO
He literally had a great defensive game against both Knicks and Nets. He should’ve had 5-6 assists in those if Hauser or PP hit their shots. Are we ignoring that part?
Okay I agree with the idea that he isnt contributing shit when he isn’t scoring, but I do think he’s fully capable of contributing
I will die on the hill that when jaylen is fully engaged(we all know what that looks like let’s be honest with ourselves) he is a really good defender, especially on the ball and point of attack
Also, his passing has been pretty damn good this year, that’s an area he’s shown a lot of growth
I will say I think a lot of his scoring struggles are due to his shot diet, it looks lazy. Lot of contested spot up 3s, too much dribbling around less simple attacks on the basket drawing fouls
He needs to get back to what made him a great scorer and stop trying to be James harden out there and dribble dribble iso shoot
