For years now we’ve seen the Heat and Spoelstra take advantage of him and make him look like a moron who’s never dribbled a ball before. Tonight we watched Nurse and the 6ers do the same. He was decent against the Wolves but somehow still managed a -16 in a 5 point loss.
The other day he had a good game against the Wizards. If you rewatch that tape you’ll see at least 4 of his plays that would have definitely resulted in turnovers against a better team. He made the same old Jaylen mistakes but the Wizards were too incompetent to punish them.
The formula is so simple too. Just pressure the ball in his hands and super-commit on aggressive help defense and Jaylen can’t handle the ball well enough or process the floor quickly enough to make the right read. This is what better coaches and better defenses do to him that make him have his “bad games” in which he has 5+ turnovers and shoots terribly.
Jaylen’s problem is that he does not process the game as quickly as he needs to. He can’t read the floor while under pressure. He gets away with it against bad defenses that can’t apply that pressure but he tends to get exposed against better defenses.
Like I said from the previous post:
JB is the type of player who can’t contribute shit when he doesn’t get going offensively. He can’t dribble, can’t pass and has the most defensive lapses compared to our starters. When he gets fouled it’s a fucking guarantee it’s going to be 1/2 with his poor FT SHOOTING.
If Tatum, White or even Holiday has some shooting slump AT LEAST they can contribute by passing, making plays, grit defense, etc.
JB so far has been the damn weakest link out there IMO
