Pitchforks down, let’s just discuss this freely and see what we can come up with.
We all have seen it countless of times, I’m not totally certain I know what exactly it is, but I know exactly what it looks like
This core has a habit of fielding teams who look borderline unstoppable at times, like some games they’ll blow you out by 50, the ball is whizzing around the court, everyone is getting open shots, defense looks dominant, etc etc
Then the next game it’s like watching a group of 5 guys that just met each other an hour ago play unmotivated basketball.
Why do we think this happens? I personally struggle with the answer, I’m not sure if it’s Joe’s fault for not installing a consistent enough offense to create open shots on a regular basis or if it’s on the players and it’s their fault for losing focus too often and randomly not getting up for games
This has been happening for a long long time now and I’m just curious where you all stand on it(side note we should really come up with a name for “it” which is those times when everyone forgets how to play basketball and look like they don’t care)
This season I personally tend to lean towards Joe being the issue, I actually really like Joe and his mindset but if I had to guess I would say he’s overcomplicating the offensive system and it’s making us look weird. We have 5 guys who can shoot or score at an elite level from everywhere on the court, why are we struggling to get open shots?
