It’s no secret that the lakers have not gotten off to the start we envisioned before the season got started. Here are the main things we’re all noticing and my take on what we should expect the rest of the way.

  1. The Lakers HC is doing the team a disservice: Ham is a good manager of egos and he had the guys bought in even when things when bleakest last season. But he limits the team with his lineups and rotations and often directly contributes to losses which is something you can’t have if you want to win a championship.

  2. The Lakers have a backcourt issue: it’s time to split Reaves and DLo up, at least until they can get Vanderbilt back. Having the two of them guard opposing teams best perimeter players is killing them offensively and killing the team defensively. They can both get back to being efficient offensive players if their workload is decreased on the other end.

  3. The Lakers are being plagued by injuries: Rotation has been short and guys who are not supposed to be playing big minutes are. It’s one thing to see Bron and AD miss time here and there but nothing could’ve prepared us for having 4-5 rotation guys out pretty much every game so far

REASONS FOR OPTIMISM: To be totally honest not much here. BUT, it is only 1/10 of the way through the season and things change quickly. Let’s stick by our guys and be ready for the ride. Last season is plenty of evidence for how we can turn things around. From a basketball standpoint we’re getting killed on the glass and I think that can be shored up when our wing rotation gets healthy. Also the schedule eases up after next game against Phoenix and I imagine Reaves and DLo will find their shot soon.

Guys probably partied before the Miami game and are just still hungover. Probably why LeBron said that everyone needs to show up to work and be ready.
