when harden was on bkn they ran pretty complex offensive sets like the “scissor screen” where kd and kyrie both screen through hardens defender from both sides, opening up options for cutting, fading, etc. when harden was on philly they at least tried to run PNR as much as possible with embiid.
from what i’ve seen of this team, when the big 4 are sharing the court they’re just taking turns isoing… that will never work… where are the offensive plays??? this team has so much offensive potential, kawhi PG and harden are so good at shooting and taking it to the hole, but they just wanna iso… at least get PG to be the screen and roller, he can finish and sometimes fade out for the jumpshot
Boy, the fact that Harden couldn’t suceed with KD and Kyrie then Joel Embid is mind boggling.

It’s such a braindead thing to say that Harden couldn’t succed with KD and Kyrie. They were beating up Celtics who went to the finals the very next year so badly, then Harden got injured then Giannis planted his foot into kyrie’s landing space. If they didn’t get injured they for sure win a chip that year against that bum ass suns team.Then It’s not Harden’s fault that Kyrie tore his team up everyyear since 2017
Scissor screen play is legit what I was spamming in the game thread during Kawhi double teams when everyone was complaining why Kawhi got less shots up than WB (spoiler: that’s the game plan. Make Russ shoot a contested shot)
Have Russ and Zu set it, or Harden and Zu. Preferably having Harden/Russ and PG on opposite sides of the court with one on weakside. It either gets Kawhi free to ISO a smaller guard (probly Russ’s defender) or lets Russ and Zu run a PnR to the cup with either Russ finishing, Zu getting a shovel pass in the restricted area, or getting passed out to PG or Harden for a catch and shoot or ISO score.
Even the Bucks are spamming that play. Dunno why we can’t do the same when we have this level of talent on the roster.
