This is the most excited i’ve been to watch a Rockets game in awhile. I am a huge believer in Ime Udoka, and although the contracts we gave out were a huge payday, I think they cover up our main weakness last year: lackluster defense.

Fred is an extremely talented defender for being smaller than everyone else, and Dillon was needed here for his defensive prowess. Yes, Dillon’s antics don’t always back up his play, but we desperately needed a player like him. He’s a player that can mold Tari into one of those players that you love to have but hate to play against in the future.

Jalen…I’ve been defending you for your first two years , and now is the time to show what you can do. Consistency is the biggest thing i’m worried about, but if he shows that jump like we’ve all hoped, i’ll be satisfied. I would genuinely be happier with a 23-24ppg on better efficiency and more leadership than a 26-28ppg scorer with zero consistency. The good thing is that he plays Orlando, a team that he’s averaged above 25 ppg in three games vs them.

I like the direction in where this team is going, and i think Ime is the right coach to lead us to promising results. I’m hoping to reach around 35-40 wins this year; the bar may be set high, but I believe in Ime so much to the fact where I think he might lead us to a play-in spot. But tbh, I doubt any results from this season would be worse than the last two seasons.
