Apple MacBook Pro (13", M1, 2020). I don’t have another Mac to do that Mac to Mac rescue thing
Yes I know I need to clean the screen.
So randomly two days ago, the computer fan started running REALLY loud for what seems like every time I used it, even when doing nothing or things I have done to never have had the fan to turn on.
Then this happens (see video):
It alerted it to tell me to reinstall macOS but I don’t have enough space. I don’t have another Mac to do the Mac to Mac thing but I’m wondering if I can:
- use Disk utility to wifi download macOS to the flash drive
- boot to the flash drives “desktop”.
- view the files on my internal Drive from the flash drive,
- delete things to free up space,
- wifi reinstall macOS from disk utility onto my internal Drive then everything should be fine right??
USB stick I want to use : SanDisk 64GB Ultra Dual Drive USB Type-C https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01EZ0X3L8?ref_=cm_sw_r_apin_dp_2W0JC4G3TF4FD73GRDN3&language=en-US
In the name of Satan PLEASE I don’t need comments saying I should have had free space or a backup drive or something something
I had job interview and all my files were on my internal drive so I’m not felling happy about it…
Since the fan was running does that mean that a hacker was going through my internal drive and my Mac was using more power so it needed the fan to keep the temp cool?
What’s weird about that up⬆️ previous paragraph is that the fan would turn on when the Mac is cold to the touch like as soon as I would turn it on.
