Until Dobbs has a bigger sample size, it’s cousins. Kirk was playing like a top 5 or even top 3 QB before he went out. He was starting to heat up before his injury. That Monday night game against the 49ers was huge for him

As a hater of all things kirk cousins I’m hoping and praying to god we don’t resign that mediocre player and go out in the draft and pickup on someone real but in reality we most likely will resign him for 2 years at a massive cut.

Prior to free agency, I wanted us to get a cheap vet or mid round pick in the building to groom to be the bridge starter if we weren’t going to be able to get a QBOTF in the draft. That would give us freedom to move on from Kirk and not have to worry about some rando in free agency not being able to run the offense.

We wound up doing both of those things.

My preference, all other things being equal, is that Hall would be the bridge starter just because we’ve got full team control for another 3 years. Dobbs could play himself out of the “cheap vet” and we might wind up having to pay him high-end backup/borderline starter pay. Which isn’t the end of the world if he’s worth it, but it’d be much better if Hall was worth that and we had him for 3 years at a 5th round rookie salary.

Kirk and it’s not even close. Dude was playing at an MVP level before the injury. 171 TDs/ 55 INTs as a Viking.

I hope Dobbs shows a lot during the remainder of season/playoffs and earns a way below market deal.

Kirk won’t come back on a below market deal. Not in his nature.

I guess I don’t see it with Hall, but would love to be proven wrong.

    So Dobbs for me

We have people in this thread wanting us to go all in on Josh Dobbs after 1 game. I love the internet.

I don’t know how anyone can answer this question. I want whomever will give the Vikings the best shot at winning.

Seeing people say that they want NONE OF THE ABOVE, I don’t get that either? If Dobbs or Hall plays their ass off they still ONLY care about a draft pick and that draft pick has to start?

I don’t it. What I do know is if Dobbs plays really the rest of the year he will be able to get a bigger contract and then the Vikings will have some decisions to make
