Jamo has 6 receptions at 71 yards total this year. He leads the league in drop % at 45.5% at 17:20 minute mark.

Jameson Williams is also number 2 in most drops of any NFL WR in only 4 games while not starting and behind most other Lions WR in snaps. Hopefully he gets better but these early returns are below 1st round expectations despite Herman Moore’s coaching ideas.

Here are some interesting and real stats about Jamo.

% of passing plays he’s participated in this season: 38.7%

    # of snaps/plays where he ran a route: 63

    Targeted: 15 times

    Targeted deep: 4 times

    Target rate: 23.8%

Percentage of his targets that were catchable balls: 60% or 9 targets were catchable

    Drops: 3

    Drop %: 20%

    Receptions: 6

There are a few takeaways from his stats and from watching the games:

He’s being used sparingly and only on specific packages. When he’s out there on passing plays he’s been the 3rd or 4th option.

Seems to me that the coaches and Goff do not trust him yet but given how little he’s been able to practice or get real in game experience it’s to be expected, somewhat. For speed guys like Jamo, they tend to take longer to get in sync with their QBs so hopefully its a situation similar to Goff and Chark last year when they didn’t really gel until 2nd half of the season.
