all recent cod games have been awful, but why do you buy the next one anyway? it’s obviously not gonna get better, it’s Activision in 2023. AAA games are rarely good now. I really hope I’m wrong and nobody’s buying mw3.

This is like the third post I’ve seen asking this question in two days.
Like many others always respond, a lot of people only play two or three games a year. CoD is the shooter they play and they’ll buy the new one because the people they play with will all be moving to that one. As long as it has guns and maps different from last year, they’ll be content.
On another note, “all recent CoD games” have not been awful. MW19, Cold War, and MW22 were all pretty top notch FPS games with a good amount of content and satisfying shooting. I will say that I thought Vanguard was pretty mediocre. The shooting was subpar and the campaign was probably the worst FPS campaign I’ve played. It seems that Sledgehammer outdid themselves with MW3 by hitting a new low. After playing the beta, I cancelled my preorder.
Also, if you want to play a fast paced, small team based, FPS game, your options are pretty limited. Most other FPS games are either large scale, battle royale, extraction shooters, or single player only. I don’t think the shooting in any other FPS comes close to feeling as good as CoD other than Destiny 2 or maybe Apex, but those are completely different games.
