Lool, I know I know, comedy show and all.

I still haven’t finished the show (got two episodes left) but it rub the wrong way how Dani basically bullied Van Damme just because they were playing on different teams during a special occasion.

When characters do something assholely in this show, they usually make up for it and grow as people, but nope. Dani was just being a dick to Van Damme for no reason. And it wasn’t really all bad until he broke his nose intentionally.

Kinda ruined Dani’s character a little for me. When he joined the show, he was supposed to be like the contrast of Roy and Jamie. Super friendly, hyper, motivational.

You know what? It was the dog incident. It must’ve turned his heart cold.

Conversely, I loved it. Absolute CONCACAF moment.

Lots of your matches over there are insane. Normally calm, rational-minded players turn into war-freaks. The latest competitive USA-Mexico game resulted in 4 red cards, 2 for each country.

The November 16, 2021 Canada-Mexico game for WC qualification was quite intense (also the most recent fixture between them). There were 16 fouls for Canada and 21 for Mexico. 5 yellows were produced (both managers were given yellows in the first half for their aggressive nature towards each other and the referees).

Several CONCACAF national teams have a reputation for turning nice, kind players for their clubs into aggressive assholes. In fact, that’s a trend in National Teams in general.

Canadian here and CONCACAF lifer. While it may be stereotypical about Mexican players… THIS IS HOW THEY ARE!!! Lol could be angels with their club, but the NT calls for something different.

I thought it was absolutely hilarious and a surprising representation in the show. There’s a drama to El Tri that’s difficult to describe to the uninitiated. It’s life or death, them versus the world, all ties are gone when with the team. If they lose the match, they’ll be sure you don’t leave unscathed. It’s unsportsmanlike, not good for the game, but a character to their squad that is unique and representative of them.

If you watch how spicy things can get between Mexico and other CONCACAF nations, like USA and recently Canada, you’d better understand.

I know it mostly sounds negative, but it was really funny, and it’s just the world of soccer.

Now, here’s a link to Canada beating Mexico in a World Cup Qualifying game, which they booked in sub-freezing temperatures in Edmonton: https://youtu.be/NBb-_oas-yg?si=Nto75E_niuuKauLh

CONCACAF shithouses are the best in the world. Van Damme shouldve known better lol.
