Hi I’m 21 F I want to start my own business but I have no idea where to start . People have told me to start with online but I don’t use social media much and I have no idea what to do . What should I do ? Any suggestions…
You have to ask yourself why you want to start it. I’ll give you a brief description of my story; at about your age I got into building tiny model ships that other people collected like stamps. I was so good at it that people started to ask if they could buy them. So I learned how to build lots of copies at the same time as batches. I didn’t make much money but I felt like I had to do it because I was so interested in it and found it so rewarding to serve my customers. It taught me about organisation, shipping, budgeting and that kind of thing.
15 years later I have a much more evolved and sophisticated hobby product business, but the passion that drives it is more or less the same. You don’t have to be passionate about a certain thing, but you do have to be really interested in building a system that make or serves that thing for profit. It’s just easier to learn how to build that kind of system when you actually care about the product or service and find it very engaging.
With so little info in your post it’s hard to say whether you should. If you just don’t want a 9 to 5, learn a trade and become self employed, but that’s not quite the same as starting a business. That’s starting a job - which is also fine.
So tell us a bit more and maybe we can advise better.
You shouldn’t be confident, as based on your post you don’t have a lot to offer. Yet.
Most actual business owners started out after years of doing something for someone else, then realizing that we can do it ourselves.
Then we make the leap, and we get kicked in the soft spot for several years, wondering if we made the right decision.
Eventually a few of us make it to a point where we can say that we’ve won. We work for ourselves, and we can sell the business if we want.
Your main advantage is that you have nothing to lose, as I’m assuming you don’t have kids. Stay out of debt, work hard, sacrifice living the high life for a while, and you’ll give yourself a chance.
Learn a skill. Put your head down and just do the work. That’s what separates successful ventures from failed ones. You can only loose if you quit
Follow your passion.
Start doing something you really like doing and are confident in
You’re only 21? You’re still a baby! You have plenty of time to figure out your business. But I’ll give you some tips anyway.
First, don’t worry about social media. It’s a huge time suck, and it’s not necessary to start a successful business.
Instead, focus on building relationships with people. Talk to your friends, family, and neighbors. Let them know what you’re doing, and see if they can help you out.
You can also network with other entrepreneurs. Attend industry events, and join online forums. The more people you know, the more likely you are to find success.
I’ll give an example!
Go to a thrift store and buy the ugliest shirt you can find. Put on the shirt and go to the busiest intersection in your city. Start dancing and singing your business jingle. People will be so startled and confused by your behavior that they’ll be sure to remember your business name.
Of course, this is just a joke. But it does illustrate an important point: you need to do something different to stand out from the competition.
If you’re serious about starting a business, you need to have a clear plan and be willing to put in the hard work. But most importantly, you need to believe in yourself and your business idea.
And finally, don’t be afraid to fail. Failure is a part of the learning process. Just pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and keep going.
Now, go out there and start rocking the business world!
Good luck!
Have you thought about only fans as an initial start up business?
Just start and youll figure it out or youll fail. Repeat that process again and again until you feel you are happy and successful. That is the secret is that there is no secret. Start, succeed/fail, repeat.
