…Dejan Kovacevic reported that Chuks “made a mistake near the end of the 20-10 loss to the Jaguars at Acrisure Stadium in remarking, apparently within earshot of Tomlin, that the offense should simply kneel out the remainder of the clock rather than continuing to run plays.”
What’s a checkdown?
A quarterback goes through a series of progressions when they are throwing the ball. They have their first choice route (based on the play or matchups), then second choice third choice etc. normally decreasing in distance thrown. If no one is open their last chance to throw is to “check down” or throw a pass, normally to a running back, right around the line of scrimmage.
