Now, you see the question is kind of a pretty straight forward question… or is it?
I am asking this to see how people on this sub view the players and how you answer this question.
I am not looking for objective answer, I am looking to your, subjective answer.
There are 3 former Raptors in the Hall of Fame:
Chris Bosh, Tracy McGrady and Hakeem Olajuwon.
That’s the objective answer.
But… how many are there really?
Here are their numbers for the Raptors:
Bosh: 7 Seasons in TOR - Averaged 20.2 points, 9.4 rebounds, 1.2 blocks in 509 games (5 times All star)
T-Mac: 3 Seasons in TOR - Averaged 11.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.4 blocks in 192 games
Olajuwon: 1 Season in TOR - Averaged 7.1 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.5 blocks, 1.2 steals in 61 games
So obviously Olajuwon is not in the HoF for what he did as a Raptor. Do the 3 seasons he had with us helped T-Mac’s case as a HoFer? What about Bosh? Obviously he won all those titles with the Heat, and just his Raptors career is probably not enough, but he was a massive part of this team’s history.
So… what do you say when someone asks you - How many Hall of Famers do the Toronto Raptors have?
1? 2? 3?
(also, Lenny Wilkens is a HoF coach, and he was the Raptors coach from 2000 to 2003, but we are talking about players only here)
Any talk about HoF Raptors has to consider that Vince Carter - who will make it in to the Hall of Fame very soon - only recently became eligible due to how long he ended up playing
