Like most here, I play entirely too much of this game so it is probably no surprise I have played about 9 games of quickplay since it released yesterday. Throughout the experience, there were clear benefits (time to game, playing a specific pick, easier to drop a lost game) and drawbacks (my permabans showing up, allies not very invested, some premature ff’s), but the most poignant difference was clearly the attitude of people as the game started.
Without a draft lobby, nobody has come into the game tilted. That Teemo ADC or Jhin jungle was out of their control so nothing to do but ride it out and ff if it goes south. People just go with it instead of spending 3 to 5 minutes before the game begins mentally tearing their experience down because they couldn’t exert control in draft over others.
It feels good. People come in fresh and even if the game goes badly there are less I told you so’s and bickering in general. Love the mode and doubt I’ll go back to unranked draft tbh.
