    Was planning to get an extra steam deck for modding so this is the perfect time to get an OLED and use the original for modding. Also at the end of the day it is just a PC so you can always re use the old model for whatever you can think off.

    I dont use my steam deck enough to garner an upgrade. Not only that, everything has been tinkered so finely that even the thought of replacing my device for a few mi or spec bumps would be a waste of money. Im just happy to have a steam deck in general, the device is something out of a dream.

    Today was a fun day in this sub lol. From having fomo I turned into someone who enjoys looking at other people fomo and realizing how stupid this all is.

    Upgrade or don’t, cash grab or not, at the end of the day everyone has a deck. So just chill and play.

    Wait are people really complaining and calling this a cash grab?

    It IS exactly what I asked for - barring the upgrade of the APU (a bit, not a lot), and maybe the joycons and buttons, I don’t know what else I would want them to do. I just don’t need it yet because the product they gave me the first time is so good that replacing it would be madness. If you don’t have a deck yet you should absolutely try to get the OLED one.

    I think it’s much cooler to do it this way. It means they can control stock & orders. I’ll order a new one and sell my old one. Not exactly hard is it. It’s like when a new phone or laptop gets announced. You either keep your one or you buy the new one and should sell the old one. Do you also get mad every time ford issues a new car?

    Surely this way means they announce with 7days notice and then ship. No more crazy Q2 or Q3 waits.

    I just wish other companies would take note caught apple charges $200 for 16GB of ram.

    I’m selling my old one to a friend for cheaper than Valve’s new pricing and upgrading for a bit out of pocket. Plenty of ways to upgrade or straight up get the new one :)

    Well someone is about to inherit my 256 lcd deck for a really good deal. So I don’t really bad about getting the new one lol
