Alarm bells were absolutely ringing when it was revealed that Cecil was out of the loop on the update in Atlantean laws. I get that it’s pretty much a complete new world, but I think he’d find a way to keep in the loop.

My thinking is that Cecil knew exactly what would happen. But he wanted to see just how much damage the Krakken beast could do against a Viltrumite. Which is the end goal no matter how we look at it, as he analyses the sound that physically hurt Mark.

I also think Mark is going to progressively find himself in near life threatening situations, as Cecil continues his quest for a weapon to kill Viltrumites.
