The performance of my FP4 seems to be on a continual steady decline resulting in a growing list of issues and compromises that I am living with because I WANT to like the phone. Is anyone else having a similar experience?

Here are my issues and concerns off the top of my head: -phone has recently started getting stuck when unlocking. It’s still running as music will keep playing and notifications will come up on my smart watch but the screen gets stuck as a black glow or a freeze of the app that was last running. Only way out is to force a reboot with the power button, or in some cases take the battery out. I’ve had this happen up to 3 times in an hour before. -wifi is awful. No other devices struggle with it but I spend more time with the WiFi turned off when I’m at home than I do with it on. It works ok for a short while then it completely stops working. Switching to 4/5g brings back the internet -bluetooth connection issues with a range of devices including the Fairphone earbuds, mostly with car systems. In recent days the Bluetooth seems to have started turning itself off, including while listening to music on the headphones. -camera quality. This is more of a gripe that an issue. When I bought the phone I was accepting of a lower quality camera for the ethical and environmental benefits, but the images are grainy and the wide angle lense often results in a rainbow watermark like effect. The contrast when a photo from this phone is on my desktop wallpaper slideshow next to one from my previous phone taken 5 years ago is stark.

I’m at the point of suffering constant low level frustration when using my phone which is getting tiring. As I said, I WANT to love the phone for all the right reasons but I’m close to falling back to a “standard” phone from one of the mainstream manufacturers.

Anyone else suffering similarly, and does anyone have any tips to keep me on the wagon?

That’s good, glad to hear it’s working well for you.

Android Auto usually works fine. There are occasions where it isn’t perfect but I’m prepared to lay some of the blame on the car there. The issues are more with my vehicle without android auto where it is just connecting as any other Bluetooth speaker. I’ve had to reboot the phone a few times to get it to work, although to be fair this has been less lately

The rainbow effect isn’t lens flare, it definitely has the appearance of a processing issue. I’ll explore some 3rd party apps though, thanks for the reminder.
