Judging by protondb, everybody who has switched to Linux never had any problems in their life.
But for me, even though the rating is “gold” or above, I still have lots of tinkering to do with my games and sometimes fail entirely.
Notable mentions of games I didn’t get to work are GTA5 and Red Dead Redemption, Bloons TD6 has a bug where if you Alt+Tab, you can no longer click anything.
I’m not running Steam-Flatpak-Version, I’m using Lutris where possible, testing different proton-versions where applicable and I still run into various issues. Notably stutters and crashes occacionally. Those are system-wide though and also affect minor applications like VSCode, Discord or Spotify.
How are your experiences? Is protondb’s version of reality screwed? Or did I somehow (very possibly) bork my wine-installation and maybe system?
Running Manjaro KDE.
