so my current setup is isp modem/router gives wifi and 2 powerline adapters give internet to an older isp modem/router setup as an access point
walls are thick brick walls so the current setup only has 2.4ghz i would like 5ghz with the upgrade if possible
line coming in is 50/5 down/up vdsl
use of the internet is social media iptv streaming (mostly consumes around 10mbps) and some netflix maybe 1 device at a time
routing: i want to have a mikrotik router since i use it at my home and i know its abilities so will put their current modem/router in bridge mode so it works only as a modem. I dont know if roaming between 2 different brands will be good for the clients (if i get a mikrotik hap)
im thinking of going with 2 ubiquity aps not the latest since im looking not paying a lot for wifi 6 and wifi 5 will still be better than the current setup and they will have more range and power than the isp modem/router combo
house is big i dont know the mesurements but 2 aps will cover it well. One of the aps will be on the balcony it will cover my room and my sisters room and the bathroom and also the yard. Im thinking of using the Ubiquiti UniFi AC Mesh it will have a backhaul at the main router
clients are around 10-15 devices
now for the living room/kitchen arrea and parrents bedroom where the current modem router is i will use ubiquity ac lite and an rb750gr3. I will probably keep it this way maybe change the mikrotik router for a better model with usb
budget is probably going to be around 250-300ish euros
prices in my country (greece)
1)ac lite is 92 euros
2)ac mesh is 92
3)rb750gr3 is 55 euros
that comes to around 235+10-20 for shipping
or should i ditch 2) and 3) and only use a hap ax3? its around the same price
for cabling i will go to cat 6 for external rates use what cable sould i get? i want about 50 to 100meters cause it will go around the house so it doesnt go through the house it will look agly plus no routing options since its an old house. Also in the feature i could use my grandparrents line again 50/5 vdsl and use that as a failover or use pcc for load balancing
