With our next three games at home, I was curious if this had ever happened under Coach Tomlin. Turns out, it’s happened more than you might remember. This will be the seventh time we’ve played at least three straight home games since 2007, with the Steelers faring quite well in each homestand:
2020: 4-0 (Titans away game got pushed back due to COVID) 2019: 3-0 2015: 2-1 2014: 3-0 2010: 2-1 2008: 2-1
(I apologize for the weird formatting; I’m not great when it comes to Reddit)
What’s also interesting is that we made the playoffs in five of the past six occurrences. The one year we didn’t, 2019, was the year Big Ben essentially missed the season due to his elbow injury. That’s important considering we’ve lost at least three straight games in each of the past five seasons. If that trend continues, we’ll need as big of a buffer as possible to keep pace in the AFC North and overall conference playoff race.
If we can take even two out of the next three, I’d feel very comfortable at 6-3 as we approach the second half of the season.
