I know it is a little soon I am thinking of best guards of all time. The closest comparison I can think of is Steph in terms of size, scoring ability, passing ability, etc.

It goes before the 3 point shot but he reminds of Nate “Tiny” Archibald.

Tony Parker is ok, but Maxey plays much faster than him.

A little bit of Allen too, but their games are so different.

In terms of his top speed and first step I want to say Jeremy Lin or John Wall. Obviously a better natural shooter than both but especially in earlier years when he was more slash first and unpolished I could see their game in him.

I think Morey said that Lin tested the quickest first step in the league according to their analytics. Maybe that’s why Maxey was on his radar in the 2020 Draft

He doesn’t really have a historical comp. His 3 point shooting is better than all but the crazy legends but his handle isn’t better than kyrie or curry or whatever

Donovan Mitchell with less turnovers? Prime Derrick Rose but with much better 3 point shooting? Dame but not running from the grind?

The more I watch him the more I think prime Steve Nash. Unorthodox scoring, speed, floaters, pull up 3s. Fearless play combined with excellent court vision.

Yeah, that is a good one. Along those lines, I was thinking about John Stockton but a better scorer
