We’ve had a few threads about dream cars but I wanted to put a spin on it. I’m curious about what people would have and I think it could highlight some positives of EVs that often go overlooked.

Full EVs only. Assume you have 50 kW of solar, 300 kWh of home battery storage, and 4 level 2 chargers at home or designated for you so charging at home is completely free. Categories are daily, sports car, supercar, utility vehicle. No price limit because EVs are expensive af. Mine are:

  • Daily: Rolls Royce Spectre (special mention for the Lucid Air Sapphire. Listen to Jason Cammisa gush over it for 40 minutes - the torque vectoring is really cool)

  • Sports: Wiesmann Project Thunderball

  • Supercar: Rimac Nevera (Steve Sutcliffe on the Nevera vs Chiron on back to back drives

  • Utility: Rivian R1T

  • Bonus Classic: Jaguar Classic Works E-Type Zero. Absolute blasphemy for most but it’s an official factory program through their classics division because Jaguar was worried their classics would become illegal to drive.

Yes, I know for most people on this sub a “dream” garage full of EVs is worse than a dream where the first thing you see is Freddy Krueger. If you can get past it great, I’d love to hear what you’d get. If not, plugs are for butts, they’re coming for all the V8s, soulless fast heavy toaster.

could be done but need to push that timeline a few years forward.

daily: 2025 volvo ex90, scandanavian comfort and safety, styling is not bad either

track car: 2025 ssc sc-01, balanced and light like a lotus, bonus if it had simulated manual

sports car/roadtrip car: 2025 alfa romeo spider ev, who can say no to a softtop italian roadster?

utility: my smartphone, i just hire someone if i needed anything moved.

classic: austin healey 100 or jaguar e type, in ICE, when it comes to 20th century classics internal combustion is a part of the experience, that can’t be replaced.
