Pretty much the title. Doesn’t make a lot of sense to fire Culley just to hire Lovie Smith for a year. I’ve got nothing against Lovie, you always had the defense playing above it’s talent level. But Lovie was never a permanent solution, so why did we fire Culley in 1 year instead of 2?

    We fired Culley because he was;

    1. not qualified
    2. in over his head
    3. a bad hire for culture/leadership that needed rectification asap

    I was 100% convinced that he was going to be fired by week 4.

    Because you don’t keep an unqualified coach around to teach and lead your players. He never should have been hired anyway

    I know the time we all thought it was for Flores. But I also remember Demeco dipping his toe in the water at some point that off-season, then deciding to hold off. Does anyone know how that lines up with the timeline?
