I’ve got a 2001 Toyota v6 that has an audible rattling aka spark knock and a bad knock sensor code. I first started hearing the knock faintly here and there about 20k miles ago and 3k miles ago I got a cel p0330. Let’s say I have literally zero options besides driving this car without fixing it.

Realistically what’s going to happen and how soon? Despite the knock and cel, my car is still running surprisingly well. Is my engine going to blow up in spectacular fashion randomly? Or is it going to be a slow process where I can tell when my car is about to quit? I’ve already gone thousands of miles with this problem…is it likely I get a few thousand more? Is the unavoidable damage that already has and will occur something that could be repairable for 2-3k or will my engine be completely done for?

If anyone who actually knows what they’re talking about can answer any of these questions I’d greatly appreciate it.
