For the last few weeks I have been working with a tech supervisor from my ISP to help find out a solution to my intermittent latency spikes and packet loss. For some additional context, I had an outage in my area about a month ago and have been experiencing these issues since. Prior to the outage I never experienced any issues with my network.
I have been collecting data on pingplotter for the past few weeks to google DNS and start seeing issues on hop 2. My current setup I have been using to test is using the ISP modem in bridge mode -> personal router -> pc via ethernet.
I have tried all the basic troubleshooting steps (factory resetting router, new ethernet cables, new modem, wired directly to ISP modem, etc) with nothing making any noticeable improvements. The person I have been working with is telling me they aren’t seeing any issues in their network logs.
Any suggestions? I’m not sure where to go from here.
