JRPGs are the worst offenders when it comes to overdone text and dialog. Persona 5 for example has far too much expository dialog delivered in back-and-forth cutscenes with zero flow so none of it feels natural, just “now it’s this character’s turn to talk.” Older CRPGs and some newer ones are rotten with gigantic walls of text and I honestly cannot be bothered anymore!
