WARNING: This definitely crosses some ethical lines for some.
A few months ago, I was part of a roofing company that unfortunately went into bankruptcy. This situation left many of our team members, including myself, without substantial commissions we were owed — in my case alone, it was over $35K. Additionally, several customers were left with unfinished installations, having already paid for them.
Before they removed our access, I was able to access and retrieve data from our CRM system. This data comprises nearly 40,000 accounts, essentially everyone who ever contacted our sales line. I couldn’t care less about the ethics here, and I’ve obliterated any trace of my actions. I’m going to remain vague on this component.
Recently, some colleagues and I, all from the previous sales team, decided to come together to establish our own roofing company. However, we’re realizing that we lack experience in online marketing and lead generation. The information I have is stored in a CSV file and includes the details from these accounts:
- - Address
- - City
- - Zip Code
- - Name
- - Date Account Created
- - Closed/Lost
How can I use this information?
The owner recently started a new competing roofing company under his sons’ name after we started our own. I don’t want them to know that we even have this list. My first idea is to create a custom facebook audience using the emails in order to run ads. Would love more ideas :)
It’s not actually a roofing company and I had to create a burner account for this for obvious reasons.
