The Rams gave up quite a haul in the 2016 draft to take Goff 1st overall. Now that it’s been more than 7 years, how would you assess that trade? Worth it? Not worth it? Would you do it again in hindsight?

I personally think the Rams gave up too much. I understand needing to make a splash in your first season in Los Angeles, but I don’t think Goff became enough for the Rams or the Lions to warrant going first overall with that trade package. And they could have gotten other good players with those picks.

It was a terrible trade, but it allowed us to fire Fisher and hire Sean McVay.

Regardless of what Goff accomplished in LA. He is good enough to have warranted a certain trade value. That trade value was high enough when paired with a pick, to earn us John Matthew Stafford, SuperBowl champion.

Things play out weird. Sometimes the true value isnt known until after a player is gone.

Rams drafting someone else creates an alternate timeline and lorn knows what happens

Fisher was a terrible coach, but he was good building the team. Without him the Rams would have been in a constant rebuild. McVay got the keys to a very nice car.
