At that point, aim to make them focus on you without dying. Even if you can’t get kills, if you can enable your team to get kills, you’ll still stand a chance. Use cover a lot heavier, and don’t be afraid to retreat a bit more. Something enemy teams will sometimes do is focus so hard on countering one character, that they forget to draft things to deal with the rest of your team. Of course, don’t force anyone to switch, especially since you aren’t switching to a better character matchup, but it could leave a nice opening for someone.

Overwatch is a game where switching characters us a huge part of the match dynamic, so when you won’t switch to a better character for the situation at hand, it leaves some people feeling like they’re losing for reasons out of their control. I personally don’t care too much, but it is a fair reason to feel a bit burned.

You could try to act as the bait to waste the enemy teams’ resources and distract them if all else fails. If you are being hard countered, your team is free to do what they want.

Harass them and get out, playing it safe and whatnot without engaging with the tank unless they are the only ones left/if your team decides they must focus them.

Why is this the kinda Doomfist that always ends up on my team bruh. Honestly tho it depends on the counters. Orisa, Zarya, Reaper, etc are soft counters that can still be played around if you simply avoid them and target the supports. Mei, Sombra, Pharah/Echo and maybe even Ana? HARD counters. You might do fine if there’s only one hard counter on the enemy team, but if there’s multiple, just switch.

It’s not even counterpicking. You’re not swapping to counter them, you’re swapping so you aren’t hard countered yourself and are actually allowed to play the game.

You can play against your counter, but you can’t play against your counters. If one person swaps to a counter and you are decent at doom you can play against it, if their whole team swaps to shut you down you are better off switching, it just isn’t possible to play while hard countered by their whole team. In qp sure you can, but in comp the players are similar skill level to you, it ain’t gonna work out great.
