The neta gt has been announced as an affordable coupe for China at 25k. Then you have Nissan, Mazda, Toyota, and Honda all showing their own EV sports cars like the Honda Prelude and the Mazda iconic sp. So far the mass market for EV has been mostly SUV & CUV with a small but growing electric truck lineup. Tesla still has not made the Roadster and we know that electric coups will be much heavier and not have the sound of sport cars of old. This might not concern the soccer mom looking to buy a regular old Rav4 but for the enthusiast, it is a hard sell I can imagine. Maybe when all cars are electric of course people will want sports cars but it is harder when there are still ICE engines on the road it is harder to imagine why someone would pick them. Interested to hear everyone’s thoughts.
