I’m trying to figure out a way I can share my server with my dad next door. He’s about 100’ away, we both have separate 30m/3m Internet (max we can get). We both can access each other’s WiFi from each house. Currently we both have a TP-Link router that supports the EasyMesh.

I only need my server to be able to share with him since my 3m upload can’t stream hardly anything. Would I be able to buy a separate WiFi adapter and connect to his network and mine? Currently my server connects via WiFi, but I could change it to Ethernet and then use the WiFi to connect to his if that would work.

Is there another way to join the networks, while also keeping the Internet separate?

Thank you!

You can have the server on two networks at once (Wi-Fi, hardwired, or both). That’s probably your easiest answer. Just make sure the networks are using different subnets (both can’t be 192.168.1.0/24 for example)
