Title basically says it all. I’ve been writing my college thesis on NFL contracts, and looking into Stafford’s contract details, I’m trying to determine if his deal is too lopsided at the end of his contract. His salaries for the next years of his contract are as follows:

2023: $20 Million 2024: $49,500,000 2025: $50,500,000 2026: $49,500,000

While Stafford’s playing well right now (especially compared to last year), are we paying him too much over the next three years for a 36-39 year old QB?

    A couple of things.

I’m trying to determine if his deal is too lopsided at the end of his contract.

I’d actually argue that the contract was in the team’s favor at the beginning of the contract, considering Stafford won them a Superbowl.

Did we forget the oline issues and how many times we adjusted the oline last year? Stafford may have had some issues but he wasn’t alone.
