Might be an unpopular opinion but I don’t think keeping dj Moore would’ve made a difference with our offense. But for sure losing burns or brown would be a drastic change to our defense.
I’m just referencing back to the bears game. I don’t have any stats just purely my observation. But I didn’t really see dj Moore make a difference with the bears either, with the nonexistence pressure our defense gave to the bears that’s an insane amount of time to get open, but he’s being covered by donte like nothing.
He’s a good receiver, but I don’t think he’s the WR1 we all are envisioning. More like a top tier WR2.
Instead of panicking and making impulsive decision on a WR, honestly think OL probably the most dire to fix first, even if we pull the trigger a top WR, young is not going to have to time to even release the ball.
Yes.
You saw it Thursday. He had two screens where he broke a tackle and got a first down.
You might think that it’s not that much, but in two plays in the same game he’s had a quarter that Mingo has had all year. In an offense that is reliant on quick passes you need the receivers to do something. Outside of theilen there’s almost forced missed or broken tackles.
He’s a very good wr that doesn’t have problems staying on the field and I don’t remember him giving up on routes much. That woulda moved the needle a bit. Unfortunately he can’t play offensive line or give his eyes to Sanders, etc etc
Moore had a few good plays, he does have a undrafted rookie from a D2 school throwing to him.
My real question with DJ is: could he run these routes well? And I think the answer is… basically no. Like, he’d probably run a curl better than anybody still on the roster, but could he get plus yardage out of one? Could he go zero-to-sixty to get some YAC after coming to a complete stop to make a catch? Could he hit all the landmarks at exactly the right moment, considering he was never the world’s best route runner?
I’m not so sure.
