I have a new ‘24 CX-5. Historically I would get a car wash 4ish times a year. Usually hand wash. I live in a snowy/road salty part of the USA.

Online forums make car washes sound like you will destroy your paint.

Am I better off getting regular machine washes? Or infrequent hand washes?

I normally keep cars until they’re dead. And the town and surrounding towns (rural area) do not have touchless car washes.

Ceramic coat and oil Undercoat once a year and forget about it. This is more than 90% of car owners ever do

The easiest way is probably to get it ceramic coated then do a weekly or bi-weekly rinseless wash. I still get out the pressure washer and do the full production when it’s warm but that’s probably done for the year here.
