Burning in my headphones. What would be best, heavy metal, death metal, bass heavy hip hop? References wanted

I gotta make this post long enough so it won’t get deleted…

I’m using a smartphone with the headphones connected to the headphone jack. I’d use my portable amp, but it doesn’t have an hp jack input and the phone needs to use the USB-C port for charging.

You don’t need to worry about burn in. There isn’t really anything to support it. It’s more of an old audiophile claim that marketing supports since it uses up your return window

Welp…My Q45 have been enduring the blazing loud sound of Death-adder Metal for over 24 hours. I might just go ahead and subject them to another 24 hours, really work that poor sound quality out of them 😊

So…. Burn in is 99.9% irrelevant, and certainly if you don’t like the sound of the headphones now, you won’t like it after 50-100 hours of burn-in.

If you still wanna try, white noise - equal amounts of content at any frequency is the most movement you could give the driver.

Okay, got impatient and pulled the Q45 off the wine bottle and checked them out. 😊

They still don’t sound good to me. I think their muddy bass or sub bass is interfering with the upper mids and highs.

I put them back in their case and shelved them. No amount of burn in is going to fix muddy bass.
